One day after presenting his Second Government Report, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador highlighted that of the 100 commitments he made when taking office as federal Executive, he has already fulfilled “like 96”.

In a conference, the president stressed that the Fourth Transformation is on the right track despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the opposition.

“I made 100 commitments when I took office and I have completed about 96, so I give myself the time to December 1. We are doing well, we have not deviated despite the pandemic and the conservative reaction, in addition to the attacks and obstacles. We are transforming and we have no intention of going backwards ”, he said.

He took the opportunity to remind legislators to disappear the trusts, since, he assured, they were handled in a discretionary manner and without transparency.

When questioned about the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, López Obrador recognized, like the Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, Arturo Herrera, that Mexico is going through a deep economic crisis that has not been experienced since 1932; however, he said, there are already signs of recovery.

He indicated that the fall in formal jobs has slowed and he trusted that in August the recovery of 100,000 formal jobs of the more than one million that have been lost due to the crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic will be recorded.

He also hopes that with the economic reactivation a recovery will begin to reach the 20 million 500 thousand workers who were registered with the IMSS prior to the contingency.

“Yes it is a deep crisis, the important thing is that we are going to get out quickly, it will not be a prolonged crisis, there are signs of recovery: in August I hope there will be 100 thousand out of a million lost. The loss of formal jobs has already stopped. We are going to recover the jobs lost with the reactivation ”, he said.
