Cologne | At Viktoria Köln, Imke Wübbenhorst will start as assistant coach to coach Olaf Janßen from August 1st.
The 32-year-old, who made 116 appearances in the women’s Bundesliga during her active career for Hamburger SV and BV Cloppenburg, has already worked as a trainer for BV Cloppenburg and Sportfreunde Lotte. She is the holder of the UEFA Pro license.
“I had a very good feeling from the first few conversations because it was a lot about football-related aspects,” says Wübbenhorst. “Franz Wunderlich and Marcus Steegmann talked a lot about the structure, management and future of the association. Personally, I see great potential at Viktoria. I believe that in Andreas Rettig an excellent man has been brought in who will lead the club in an even better direction and further improve the structures. “
Olaf Janßen: “I am very happy to welcome Imke Wübbenhorst on board from August 1st. She is an asset to our coaching team – if only through her training as a soccer teacher – that is, the highest qualification one can have in this area. “
