The original project aimed to apply the methodology of the participatory process to improve the conditions of movement of people with reduced mobility to health facilities. It meets the following objectives:

  • ANALYZE the development issues experienced by people visiting a CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’île-de-Montréal health facility (mobility, friendliness, safety, signage, street furniture, etc.);
  • PROPOSE solutions resulting from collaboration between development experts, officials of the CIUSSS concerned, community organizations and citizens, experts in their community;
  • PROMOTE the implementation of solutions in partnership with local political, administrative and community authorities;
  • TO EQUIP citizens, community organizations, CIUSSS and municipal administrations in possible urban redevelopment initiatives.

Ultimately, the project aims to make it possible to secure the surroundings of health establishments in Montreal.
