In October, Elon Musk said the Boring Company's proof-of-concept tunnel in LA will be open to the public on 10th December. Last night he said on Twitter that the opening is still in progress and a video of his walk through the entire tunnel was posted.
The accelerated video takes just over 30 seconds and shows the tunnel that Musk describes as "annoyingly long".
The construction of the tunnel began more than a year ago and extends from the headquarters of SpaceX in Hawthorne, California, to a suburb of LA. Since then, the Boring Company has been tasked with building tunnels for Chicago and Washington DC and was planning to build a larger tunnel network under LA to reduce congestion. The tunnels will theoretically use autonomous electric skates to move between 8 and 16 people along the rails of the system at a speed of 124 mph to 155 mph.
