In a worsening addiction crisis, the FDA approves a strong new opioid

"Because of the risk of opioid addiction, misuse and abuse, Dsuvia is also intended for patients who have not tolerated alternative pain management options or whose tolerability is unlikely, if existing treatment options are not contemplated adequate analgesia or if any of these alternatives no adequate analgesia is expected, "says a statement by Gottlieb on the approval of the drug.
