As Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Media has not yet been formally finalized, neither side has detailed what their shared future will look like. However, this will change in March. According to VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, there is an online event awaiting us about the companies’ plans.
In a recent podcast, Grubb said that after the deal closes, Microsoft will host an event – likely in mid-March – during which the corporation and ZeniMax Media (including Bethesda Softworks) will share details of their future plans and what the company will look like in coming months and years. The journalist also clarified that this may not be a Nintendo Direct-style broadcast, but fans should expect a lot of new information anyway.
Earlier, the head of the gaming division Xbox Phil Spencer (Phil Spencer) said that the exclusivity of certain games Bethesda Softworks will be determined on a case-by-case basis. And Xbox CFO Tim Stuart said Microsoft is not going to take games from the PlayStation and Nintendo. Bethesda Game Studios chief executive Todd Howard also suggested that Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI won’t be Xbox exclusives.
