The City Court of Nakhodka, Primorsky Territory, appointed one of the North Korean poachers who attacked Russian border guards last fall, 4 years in prison in a penal colony. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a court representative.

The incident occurred on September 17, 2019 in the Russian exclusive economic zone in the Sea of ​​Japan. Border guards discovered two North Korean schooners and 11 motobots that were fishing illegally.

When one of the schooners was detained, her crew attacked the border guards. Four employees were injured, one of them was a gunshot. Later, the FSB reported that as a result of the operation, more than 160 poachers from the DPRK were detained.

A criminal case was opened under Art. 317 of the Criminal Code (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer). The court sent four detainees under arrest. Later, the case against the attackers was retrained for part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code (use of violence against a representative of authority).
