In Rennes, 5 events to “change the world”

The World Organic Congress (OWC), from September 6 to 10, 2021

The world’s largest organic gathering is taking place for the first time in France and precisely at the Couvent des Jacobins in Rennes. Under the sponsorship of Nicolas Hulot, it will bring together some 2,500 people and, due to the Covid-19 crisis, will opt for a hybrid format with 500 people in person and the rest in remote.

An international unifying event, the congress is organized every 3 years by IFOAM – Organics International, with a consortium of French organic farming organizations, this year with the support of Destination Rennes and Rennes Métropole. It brings together all the players involved in the organic sector, from production to consumption, to discuss, around conferences, the major issues of organic farming in the world (resilience, transformation of society, regeneration of ecosystems, health and food sovereignty…). Goals ? Inspire, stimulate change, facilitate exchanges and imagine the organic agriculture of tomorrow!

Some numbers :

  • More than 2000 participants expected (including 500 face-to-face)
  • 50 countries represented
  • 80 conferences
  • More than 450 confirmed interventions

Note that many related events will be organized in parallel with the congress, including an organic market, the ‘Transition Square’ bringing together local environmental associations fighting for sustainable development, and much more! Also note that it is still possible to become a sponsor.

As usual, the announcements are intended to be inspiring. Inclusion, reconstruction, discrimination… Serious themes tackled through the prism of personal experience and optimism. All audiences – employees, job seekers, working people, retirees, students, etc. – are invited to register to share their ideas to change the world. And for the less well-off, the association has set up a principle of “suspended tickets”, a solidarity ticket office to make the event accessible to as many people as possible. During the previous edition, 200 people were able to attend the conferences free of charge.

Some numbers :

  • 137 members hard at work!
  • 10 talks
  • 3000 spectators
  • 55 patrons
  • 3.8 million views on Youtube

Social Change 2021, Tuesday October 12, 2021

Company managers, Human Resources managers, specialists in sustainable development, etc. all have the desire to develop companies, while improving their impact on the environment and the well-being of employees. It is to enable them to attend these exchanges and to listen to the stories of concrete cases that Social Change was born 3 years ago in Nantes.

To organize the first edition of the Social Change event in Rennes, Agence API * is joining forces with the SPL Destination Rennes. Initially scheduled for spring 2020, the event will be held over one day in autumn 2021 at the Couvent des Jacobins in Rennes. With Corporate Social Responsibility as the central theme of the event which will bring together around a hundred actors to transmit, discuss and debate on this theme which has become central for the development of companies. On the program for this day: conferences, inspiring testimonials, concrete feedback, practical tutorials, etc. The first presentations announced will therefore have as their subject the issue of packaging, employee well-being, or “green” transport.

The Learning Show, Tuesday, October 12, 2021

Between Social Change and the Learning Show, you will have to choose for both to take place on the same day… or not, since they are both held at the Couvent des Jacobins! The opportunity to “kill two birds with one stone” for those who would find it difficult to decide between a promising first edition of Social Change and the .. edition of LS which promises to “give meaning to the digital transformation of training ”after the crisis.

Edtech is doing well in Rennes and will let people know! If the subject of training is not necessarily inspiring for all, that of education and learning concerns each of us. Inventing, reinventing and facilitating the latter through innovative methods is therefore at the heart of the challenges. Just like ecology. The Learning Show will combine the two this year and will be the occasion to rediscover the experience carried out around the Mooc “Understanding the ecological crisis to reinvent the company” developed by several committed actors including the students of the ecological Awakening, the Observatory of CSR or the College of Directors of Sustainable Development. Several actors committed to the climate have already been announced.

The Digital Tech Conference, Friday, December 3, 2021

With the health context, companies, public actors, higher education, research and students have transformed their activities and adapted with unprecedented responsiveness. Advancing our society, protecting the environment, or simply for a better world … Innovation can be virtuous and at the service of people and society. This is the message conveyed by the 6th edition of The Digital Tech Conference organized by Le Poool on December 3rd. The association has made it the main focus of its new development strategy.

« Our problem is not innovation, but the terms of his current contract ” explained Gwenaëlle Quenaon-Hervé, president of Poool, at the latter’s General Assembly on June 24, 2021. “Having reached the end of a cycle, we no longer look at it except through the prism of technology, speed and the short term. We have sometimes forgotten that innovating also means solving human, land and living problems.. It is to allow everyone to find solutions for everyone. It is to combine the urgency and the long time. Our approach to innovation must be more holistic ” The Poool will also launch a platform to identify all virtuous initiatives: innovationvertieuse.bzh.
