In October, in the Chelyabinsk region, doctors recorded the incidence of pneumonia in 52 people per 100 thousand population.
This figure is almost a third (31%) higher than last year’s data, and this figure is 27% higher than the average incidence rate of pneumonia in the region over many years.
At the same time, the number of cases of pneumonia in children under 2 years of age has decreased. In other age categories, an increase in the incidence is observed, and, if in adults this increase is 8%, then the increase in schoolchildren and adolescents is catastrophic – it was he who gave a general increase of 31%.
When pneumonia develops inflammation in various structures of the lung. This disease may be a complication of another pathology or a primary disease.
The cause of the development of the disease are various microorganisms, for example, staphylococcus, mycoplasma, microviruses, adenoviruses. The most dangerous is the variant of viral microbial infection.
Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of infant mortality.
Risk factors for the development of pneumonia are chronic sore throats, hypothermia or overheating, stress, malnutrition, weak immunity, improper day regimen, non-compliance with the epidemiological regime in children's groups, smoking, alcoholism and others.
