DONETSK, Apr 14 – RIA News. In the Donetsk region, an exchange of fire took place between the militants of the “Right Sector” * and security forces units, the People’s Police of the DPR said.
According to the head of the press service of the People’s Militia, Daniel Bezsonov, the fighters of the Right Sector * arrived in Avdiivka and arbitrarily occupied the premises of the hotel and entertainment complex Tsarskaya Ohota without the consent of the command of the 93rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Clarifying the question of who exactly the territory of the complex belongs to, turned into a clash, and both conflicting parties suffered losses," he said.
Bezsonov suggested that these losses could be presented as the result of shelling from the units of the self-proclaimed republic.
The Ukrainian authorities began a military operation against the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, which declared independence after the coup in Kiev, exactly five years ago. According to the latest UN data, over ten thousand people became victims of the conflict, of whom more than three thousand were civilians.
Attempts to cease fire in the Donbass during this time were made more than 20 times. None of the truces was final, but allowed for a time to reduce the number of attacks.
The next cease-fire agreement entered into force on March 8, but the parties to the conflict continue to accuse each other of shelling.
