Indians say that Leony's Martin fought a life-threatening bacterial infection days ago

Last week, the Indians set the date for the pickup of the trade, Leonys Martin, on the 10-day DL with an unknown illness, and a few days later, Manager Terry Francona asked fans to keep Martin in their mind,

On Monday, baseball team president Chris Antonetti talked about Martin's condition, revealing he is fighting a life-threatening bacterial infection that has spread to several organs. The positive news is, Martin is the outlook for Martin's recovery looks good.

Martin, 30, came from the tigers at the close of trading on July 31st. He played six games with the Indians and went 5 for 15 (.333) before missing the game last Tuesday with an illness. Martin was placed on the disabled list last Thursday and eventually went to the Cleveland Clinic, where he stays with his family.
