In Greece, the flu epidemic killed 17 people in the last week. Thus, the number of victims of viral infection from October last year increased to 56.
Such data was cited on Thursday by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Keelpno).
The most common strain, H1N1 swine flu, does not spare either children or adults. Among the 219 hospitalized with the symptoms of this disease are patients of all ages.
Only 13% of them were vaccinated. Doctors say: the best precaution is the vaccine.
Outbreaks of influenza A are recorded throughout Europe. In France, there are not enough hospital beds for those infected, which go to thousands. About 1,800 people died in the country this winter from complications caused by the flu.
