Intestinal tumor disappeared with new treatment

This is an immunotherapy that is already on the market but has now for the first time been tested on patients with a certain type of non-spread rectal cancer. In the US study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the tumor disappeared after six months of treatment in the first 14 patients included in the study.

– This is an extremely exciting result. Admittedly, some of the patients have only been followed for a few months, but it looks very promising, says Leif Klint, chief physician at the oncology clinic at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg.
