Investing 1.2 million euros, ‘Kesko Senukai Latvia’ opens a new logistics center in Rumbula

Investing 1.2 million euros, AS “Kesko Senukai Latvia” has opened a new class A warehouse with an area of ​​14,200 m2 in the Rumbula logistics park. The new warehouse will allow to increase the amount of centralization of deliveries, reducing the load of deliveries in stores and other warehouses of the company. It will also serve e-commerce and wholesalers in Latvia, company representatives inform.

“As our product range develops, so does the number of our suppliers. We have opened a new logistics center that will allow us to optimize supply chains from manufacturers and other logistics centers of the company in the Baltics, thus accelerating the flow of product deliveries. At this stage of development, the new logistics center will be able to fully meet our needs, significantly improving the company’s efficiency,” says Viktorija Voičenko, executive director of “Kesko Senukai Latvia”.

The modern logistics complex will allow “Kesko Senukai Latvia” to reduce production transportation costs and provide new opportunities for local producers. The total size of the object is 14,200 m2, and the total storage capacity is 13,000 pallet spaces with the possibility of increasing it in the future.

“Together with modern warehouse and transport logistics solutions, the centralization of suppliers will provide additional opportunities to expand the range of goods in our stores, while reducing the cost of delivering goods. It could be especially attractive to local manufacturers, allowing to expand cooperation opportunities,” explains the stock and logistics manager of “Kesko Senukai Latvia” manager Aldis Paegle.

The project was implemented in less than a year: modern warehouse equipment was installed in the new logistics center, extensive shelving systems, office premises and other improvements were implemented. The works were carried out by the developer SIRIN Development – ​​a full-cycle industrial and commercial real estate development company that acts as an investor, developer and owner of long-term built properties.
