Matt Booty, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Studios revealed that Microsoft has just acquired inXile Entertainment.
inXile Entertainment is a team of veterans of the industry with decades of experience in PC and RPG. Directed by Interplay founder Brian Fargo, the two inXile development teams in Newport Beach, California and New Orleans have made a name for themselves by creating vast worlds for players to explore with titles like Wasteland 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Bard's Tale IV and next Wasteland 3.
The team of inXile It has earned a distinguished reputation for creating deep and engaging RPGs.
As part of Microsoft Studios, inXile will have the support and freedom to fully realize their creative ambitions in existing franchises and new projects. The study will continue to operate autonomously and will bring its unique talents, IP and experience to Microsoft Studios as they create new RPG experiences for our players and fans.
"It is a real pleasure to welcome inXile Entertainment to the growing team of Microsoft Studios and work with them to offer bigger and more ambitious games for their fans, "said Matt Booty. "I'm excited to see the team maximize its potential at Microsoft and I can not wait for what the future has in store for them."
