Apple has quietly released an update to iOS 14.5, iOS 14.5.1. It brings security fixes. Note that in parallel iPadOS 14.5.1 is also deployed with the same fixes.
IOS 14.5.1 operating system is for iPhone 6s and later models. For its part, iPadOS 14.5.1 targets iPad Pro tablets (all models), iPad Air 2 and later models, iPad (5th generation) and later models, iPad mini 4 and later models and iPod touch (7th generation).
iOS 14.5.1, two fixes
The focus is on security with plugging two loopholes. They concern the Webkit engine of the Safari browser. Apple provides a solution to a memory corruption problem through better state management (CVE-2021-30665). Processing malicious web content can lead to arbitrary code execution. This flaw is considered problematic because it is possible that computer attacks have already tried to exploit it.
At the same time, an integer overflow problem (CVE-2021-30663) was solved by better validation of entries. Here again, the giant explains that processing malicious web content can lead to arbitrary code execution. This security flaw could be exploited.
In view of the “security” nature of this update, it is strongly recommended that you install it as soon as possible. To update the iPhone, just go to this address
