IPhone repair: the AppleCare Services program could be launched in France at Orange

Orange will be one of Apple’s first partners for the launch of AppleCare Services in France, according to one of our knowledgeable contacts. This new program, which should be launched in France around August 18, will allow a customer of the operator’s 24-hour mobile insurance to obtain repairs carried out directly by Apple and therefore, with certified parts.

Currently, the damaged device is exchanged by the Orange insurance service. With AppleCare Services, only the screen will be replaced in case of breakage, not the entire device. The operator should also offer, still within the framework of these new services, battery replacement without charge or deductible (for batteries below the 80% capacity threshold).

According to our information, Orange insurance prices would not change despite the addition of AppleCare Services. The prices are based on the value of the device, for example for an iPhone 12 sold € 799 by the operator, the insurance will come to € 14.99 per month. A price to be compared to the 169 € requested for the AppleCare + warranty, which covers two years of material warranty with two accidental damage per 12-month period (subject to a deductible of 29 € or 99 €).
