A man and a woman were found dead in a house in Ipswich, leading to a major police investigation.

The officers were summoned to the address just before 9 am today, where they found a man with severe injuries in front of the house.

He died shortly after her arrival.

The officers then found the body of a woman on the property at Siloam Place.

Part of the residential street, which was full of new houses, was cordoned off when coroners searched the scene for evidence.

An investigation of the circumstances of the deaths is under way.

A Suffolk police spokesman said, "The officers were summoned to an address in Siloam Place on Monday, August 6, just after 8:50 am to find a man with serious injuries outside the property, but shortly after arrival of the ambulance died.

The man and the woman were found this morning in a house in Siloam Place

"A deceased woman was then found inside the property."
