The European Championship draw has been completed before the championship in England next summer. Lotta Schelin was one of several profiles who took part in the draw on Thursday night. Sweden meets the Netherlands, Russia and Switzerland in Group C.
– My spontaneous thoughts are exactly that. That one rules that “this still looks okay”. They are always looking for who are the best teams and there are Sweden and the Netherlands who enter the tournament as favorites, says Schelin to C More.
The opening match is the toughest on paper, the Netherlands. A loss there means that the pressure increases directly into the second match against Switzerland. However, it does not have to be something negative, says Schelin.
– That’s how it can be, absolutely. It requires a lot of the Swedes to go into such an opening match. But I can also feel that it can be nice to get started right away and not end up in a situation and get to work your way into the tournament. Now you know it will be tough right away.
Schelin does not believe that there is any risk that Sweden underestimates Russia and Switzerland, as many predict to finish third and fourth in the group.
– We who are outside will only feel that it should be victories, that’s it. Those who are inside and around the team will have great respect for both Russia and Switzerland.
