Zero Hour Writing
The Instituto Veracruzano de la Cultura invites you to enjoy the festival’s talk cycle Dandelion. The books travel to you, which will be held in person from November 24 to 28, at 12:00 am, in the auditorium of the Gallery of Contemporary Art of Xalapa. The five dialogues will address topics such as literary creation, illustration, publishing, promotion of literature and book distribution.
On Wednesday 24 will take place “The role of women in illustration: independent artists”, a talk in which the visual creators Leslie Michelle Rivas, Karla Murayama, Maia Huasca and Daniela Colorado Mora will participate as moderator. On November 25 Astrid Hernández, from the Central de Abastos radio program; Lorena Segrove, producer and host of the Letras Hertzianas podcast; and Linda Mújica, representative of the Periscope Center, will address in “Diffusion of literature through the media” the various ways to promote reading through different electronic platforms. The talk will be moderated by Josué Amores Crivell.
On Friday 26, in “The edition: from the editorial idea to the meeting with the reader”, the professionals of the letters Martha Ordaz, Alejandra Palmeros and Diana Luz Sánchez Flores, moderated by Lucero García, will share the process they follow for the publication of a text. On November 27 it is the turn of the writers Casandra Gómez, Brianda Pineda and Rafael Toriz, who will talk about the literary projects they are currently working on, with which they became beneficiaries of PECDA 2021. The dialogue will be moderated by Tania Rivera.
Finally, on Sunday, November 28, the talk will be held “Independent bookstores: meeting of xalapeño booksellers”, where Manuel Silva Durán, Eligio Ramírez Ríos and José Antonio Vázquez Toral, professionals with a long history in the sale of books, will reflect on the importance of booksellers in the search for the right copy for each reader. The activity will be moderated by Moisés Hernández Romero.
The IVEC reiterates the invitation to participate in the talks, editorial presentations, expo-sale and artistic presentations that will take place from November 24 to 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Contemporary Art Gallery of Xalapa .
