Jacob Markström now pays tribute to the words of the broken Dallas goalkeeper – after the brutal game 7 decision

Flames knocked out Stars in the decisive match.
Afterwards, Jacob Markström quickly arrived and paid tribute to the cracked opponent goalkeeper – and is now highly praised for his actions.

The Stanley Cup playoffs have started in the very best way. Several dramatic match series have been offered, where several of them have been forced to a decisive seventh match.

The Stars goalkeeper’s brutal match

The series between the Calgary Flames and the Dallas Stars has been no exception. It was 3-3 in matches before the night’s last match in Scotiabank Saddledome, and the last battle would be a real thriller.

After three eventful periods, it was 2-2, and which team would advance to the quarterfinals had to be decided in extra time. This much thanks to the Dallas Stars young goalkeeper Jake Oettinger who had been responsible for a handful of monster saves during regular time.

But in the end, the 23-year-old could not resist. The Swede Elias Lindholm played Johnny Gaudreau who set the winning goal.

Markström’s words

Judging by the pictures after the match, Jake Oettinger was completely cracked. Then the Flames goalkeeper and the Swede Jacob Markström quickly arrived and paid tribute to his goalkeeper colleague.

“You are cruel. It’s just driving on. Your future is bright “, Markström told Oettinger according to the journalist Brady Trettenero.

The two goalkeepers have really accounted for an incredible match series – where Markström had a save percentage of .943% while Oettinger accounted for an incomparable .954%. It’s absolutely incredible, and numbers that really show that both of them would have deserved to advance to the next round.
