German triathlete Jan Frodeno was the first in history to master an ironman (3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling, marathon) under 7.5 hours.

He improved his own world record on Sunday at 7:27:53 h, despite the fact that conditions on the track with a goal in Burgberg were hampered by heavy rain.

Frodeno, who will celebrate his 40th birthday a month (August 18), is the Olympic winner in the Beijing 2008 triathlon. The DPA reported.
