Cuban-American tycoon Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, is no longer the richest man in the world, according to the magazine list Forbes.
Bezos has just been displaced by the French businessman Bernard Arnault, president and director of the LVMH conglomerate. The group encompasses 75 leading brands of fashion, perfumes, cosmetics, wines, spirits, watches and jewelry, such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Veuve Clicquot and Sephora, among others.
The total fortune of Arnault and his relatives registered an increase of 1 900 million dollars, which allowed him to reach 117 000 million in one day.
Meanwhile, the capital of Bezos decreased by 761 million to 115.6 billion dollars.
In November, Arnault also surpassed the founder and director of Microsoft, Bill Gates, who now ranks third in the ranking with a fortune valued at 110.6 billion dollars.
According to information from Forbes, Arnault became the third millionaire in the world last June, and it is not the first time he has overthrown Bezos as the richest person on the planet.
“Since the fortunes of the two magnates are separated by less than $ 2 billion, they are likely to continue changing places on top of the world,” the publication stressed.
