The alliance between JetBlue Y American Airlines continues to grow and strengthen the presence of both airlines in the northeast region of the US, now they announced through a statement that for the winter season they will be operating more than 700 daily flights from New York and Boston.
Additionally, JetBlue announced that customers will be able to purchase tickets to several new destinations starting in the fall; including four new destinations that the airline is adding to its route network: San Antonio, Kansas City, Milwaukee and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The American Airlines Revenue Director Vasu Raja, highlighted that:
As part of the Northeast Alliance, with the domestic strength of JetBlue and the growing international chain of American, we are adding more destinations for travelers, more flights for our two teams, a better suite of products and a premium experience in the Northeast. country”.
As a result of the partnership, over the course of the year customers have gained access to 57 new markets and more than 110 codeshare routes from Boston and New York; to connect the Northeast with 150 destinations in the world, including 10 new international routes.
The routes include new flights from New York’s Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV), Israel, which began operating last May; to Atentas (ATH), Greece, which started in June; and one more flight to Delhi (DEL), India, starting October 31, 2021.
Expansion at LaGuardia
At New York’s LaGuardia Airport, JetBlue will expand into two terminals, currently operating at the Marine Air terminal, and will partially move to the newly remodeled Terminal B with American, allowing it to offer additional flights and will finish moving entirely to the Terminal B during 2022 to facilitate connections between both airlines.
JetBlue announced new flights from LaGuardia to Jacksonville (JAX), Sarasota (SRQ) and Savannah (SAV) beginning October 31; and to New Orleans (MSY) and Nashville (BAN) as of March 27, 2022. For the summer, already announced flights will be added to San Pedro Sula (SAP), Vancouver (YVR) and Asheville (AVL); the schedules will be announced a little later.
At Kennedy Airport, connections were established between terminals 5 and 8, where each airline operates; for greater convenience they are carried out without the passengers leaving the security zone.
As for the transcontinental service between Boston and New York to California and Seattle, from 2022 all flights to and from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, San Diego and Seattle will be operated with airplanes that include sleeper seats in Business class ; both the A321s with JetBlue’s new Mint class and American’s Transcontinental A321s.
Finally, they announced greater benefits among their loyalty programs, AAdvantage Elite and TrueBlue Mosaic members will be able to have check-in, security and priority boarding on both airlines, as well as two bags at no additional charge.
