SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Joe Ingles outscored his career by 27 points, adding seven assists for the season to help the Utah Jazz beat the Boston Celtics 123-115 on Friday in Gordon Hayward's return to Utah.
Hayward has had 13 points and seven assists in his first game in Utah since leaving the jazz agency Free after the 2016/17 season. Last season he broke his left ankle.
Donovan Mitchell added 21 points for Utah, Jae Crowder had 20 and Rudy Gobert finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds. The Jazz won their second home game in a row and the second overall result in a row.
Terry Rozier scored 22 points and Jayson Tatum added Celtics 21.
Boston lost for the third time in four games.
Jazz began to break down as he scored 3 points in each of his last four possessions in the second quarter to reach a 58: 51 halftime. Ingles were responsible for the first three long-distance baskets – for him a first half of 20 points.

Utah opened the third quarter with a 17-6 run. Mitchell ignited the run by missing three free throws and retiring for consecutive possessions. Derrick Favors made the baskets run one after the other and prepared the jazz with a double-digit lead. With two free throws Utah ended in just four minutes before the end.
The jazz eventually expanded its lead to 20 points and rose from Crowder to 83-63 before Boston rallied in the fourth quarter.
The Celtics scored a 15-4 run on four consecutive possessions – culminating in Tatum's layup. Rozier buried a 3-pointer to end the run and shorten Utah's lead to 100: 96.
Boston scored four more times four times, the last time a 3-pointer from Marcus Smart scored 111-107. But Gobert made a layup to increase the lead to six, and Tatum missed a pair of layups that could have reduced the deficit again.
Crowder sealed it at a third corner, taking Utah 47.7 seconds ahead of 117-109.

Jazz: Ingles made five 3-pointers that promoted him on the 3-pointer list from Utah ahead of Deron Williams (511). He made 512 3-pointers with jazz. Utah ended 45-28 against rebounds against Boston. The jazz ended in color with 50 points.
