Jose Mourinho Manchester United untouchable

Anthony Martial to the rescue again

Jose Mourinho may have found himself another untouchable in the form of Anthony Martial. The Frenchman is in fine form Having scored five goals in his four past Premier League appearances and is undropable.

Mourinho's Alexis Sanchez arrived in January he has been the preferred option. The Chilean started through the middle at the Vitality Stadium and did not suggest to the United manager that he should get into the team ahead of Martial.

Romelu Lukaku will no doubt be straight back in the starting XI when he recovers from his injury which means he will be left for Sanchez, Martial and Marcus Rashford to fight it out on the left again.

But, in current form there's no debate to be had. Mourinho may have found himself a new United untouchable.

Bournemouth 1-2 Manchester United reaction

Nemanja Matic off the pace

Mourinho must be satisfied with the purchase of another midfielder in the next transfer windows based on the performance of Matic in these past few days.

Chelsea and his first season at Old Trafford but he looked at the pace again against Bournemouth.

Mourinho is insistent he wants his team to get in the middle of the pitch. It's clear he's edging towards the end of his career and Mourinho needs to have a plan in place to replace him.

Terrible defending

The first helped a bad defensive mistake after bad defensive mistake.

Chris Smalling missed the ball in a spectacularly awful piece of defending. There seemed to be a huge amount of awareness and nothing more than the first goal. Junior Stanlisas had all the space and time in the world to put it on a plate for Calllum Wilson to fire the hosts ahead.

If it was not for David de Gea, United could have been down at half time. Wilson caused the center backs problems all afternoon and they were constantly caught out of position.

It's been saying something.

Fred needs settling in time

It was his fifth Premier League start but he was totally out of his depth and was hooked in the 55th minute for Ander Herrera. Mourinho did it with Lindelof last year where he had to go to the Premier League.

His passing was wayward, his first touch was poor and he offered little to United's attack. Mourinho is unlikely to be repeating again after lasting less than an hour at the Vitality.

Second half syndrome

Mourinho's side is much better in the second than they were in the first.

Others passing Herrera and Marcus Rashford came on.

When Paul Pogba and Ashley Young were asked to do the other week they could not do better. But, they could work with the reason quickly and starting with the same strategy.
