Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Because he shouted an anti-constitutional slogan in front of a shop in Freiburg, a mask opponent has to pay a fine of 60 daily rates. In front of the local court, the 52-year-old appealed on Thursday to freedom of art and to having only quoted a satirical song by the Austrian composer Georg Kreisler in which the forbidden Nazi salute occurs. But that didn’t convince the judges.
According to the court, the man was annoyed in November last year about a shop that did not allow shopping without a mask, even with a corresponding certificate. He was so upset about this that he went into the shop with several unmasked colleagues until the police officers who had called him drove him away again. In front of the door he then shouted the Nazi salute to the manageress “publicly loudly”. The exact amount of the fine was not disclosed.
