London: Manchester United with a victory reminiscent of Ferguson’s time. After trailing by two goals in the first half, tie the game in the second half, and then capture the victory with a goal in injury time. The win against Southampton in the English Premier League yesterday is reminiscent of Manchester United’s glory days.
Substitute Uruguay’s Edison Cavani’s double gave Manchester United a thrilling victory. Within half an hour of the game, United were two goals behind. John Bednerick in the 23rd minute and James Ward Prouse in the 33rd minute shook the net for Southampton.
United scored the first goal in the 60th minute through Bruno Fernandez. Cavani paved the way for this goal. In the 74th minute, Cavanagh equalized for United with a diving header from Bruno’s pass. Then there was the fight for the winning goal. Another Cavanagh header in the 94th minute gave Manchester United the victory in injury time. Cavanagh’s winning goal came from Rashford’s cross.

In another match, former champions Chelsea drew with league leaders Tottenham. Neither team scored. Chelsea dominated the game but failed to score. Tottenham are top of the league with 21 points and third-placed Chelsea with 19 points. United are eighth in the league with 16 points. In another match, the Wolves defeated a strong Arsenal side. Arsenal lost 2-1. Pedro Nieto scored in the 27th minute and Daniel Podinci in the 42nd minute, while Gabriel scored Arsenal’s consolation goal in the 30th minute.
