The Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillof, affirmed today that “in principle my formula is closed” together with the current lieutenant governor, Verónica Magario, to seek re-election and maintained that he would have “no problem going to a STEP in the province with his partner (Victoria Tolosa Paz) or whoever wants to introduce themselves”.
In an interview with Radio 10, the governor pointed out that “we are working with Verónica Magario, in principle my formula is closed”, and stressed that “continuity is necessary” because “we are making a profound transformation” in the province.
Asked if he would compete in the primaries with the Minister of Social Development, Victoria Tolosa Paz, who confirmed his candidacy for governor, he assured: “I have no problem going to a PASO in the province with my partner or whoever wants to run and then discuss the best project in the province”.
Regarding the possibility that the official coalition offers him a presidential candidacy, he opined that although he feels “flattered” the important thing at this time “is to seek a proposal with the best candidacies” within the Frente de Todos.
“One is available to the space, but in the province we have the proposal and we are willing to discuss it within the space with whoever wants to collaborate,” he emphasized.
Kicillof also assured that “we are going to campaign together with (Eduardo) ‘Wado’ (De Pedro), of course” because “there is a coordination of politics and ideas”, after he and the Minister of the Interior shared several acts in the last days.
Regarding the electoral campaign, although he avoided “opining from the internal ones in the opposition,” he warned that “the right in all its expressions has many candidates but has only one project, which is to adjust and restrict rights. They all express this to their face discovered”.
