King Charles arrives in Balmoral for the first visit since the death of Queen Elizabeth

The British newspaper, “Evening Standard”, reported that the King and Queen left in a car that arrived at the British Royal Air Force Airport on Tuesday morning in London, said to be heading to Balmoral.

The royal family is not expected to carry out any official engagements for a week after Queen Elizabeth was buried at St George’s Chapel on Monday, as they hold a period of mourning.

Buckingham Palace did not confirm the king’s visit to Scotland.

The Queen was buried with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, during a private evening burial ceremony at Windsor Castle attended by close family members on Monday.

No date has been set for King Charles’ coronation, but it is expected, in keeping with royal precedent and due to the large amount of planning, that there will be at least several months between the funeral and the coronation of the new king.
