Kyrie Irving may be leaving the Nets. Lakers and Knicks are possible contenders for the player – Basketball

Talks point guard Kyrie Irving (30 years, 188 cm) with the leaders of the Nets about his future in the team have reached an impasse, according to The Athletic insider Shams Charania.

The seven-time All-Star is considering entering the free agent market. Possible contenders for Irving are the Lakers, Knicks and Clippers.

Until June 29, Irving must decide on the option to extend the contract for the 2022/23 season with a salary of $36.9 million. The defender wants to drop the option and sign a new long-term deal.

Irving made just 29 appearances last season due to his refusal to vaccinate. The player averaged 27.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.
