Last weekend this year, on November 27 and 28, Riga residents will have the opportunity to hand over the collected fallen leaves.

You can see the collection points here.

So far this year, almost 1,400 tons of leaves have been collected from the population during the leaf transfer project organized by the municipality.

It has already been reported that the collected leaves will be delivered to the biomass processing site in Getliņi. Representatives of the Territorial Improvement Board will take part in each day of the leaf collection project, following the situation, coordinating the transfer of leaves, controlling the progress of specialized waste collection transport, as well as helping residents to place leaf bags in waste collection transport.

The municipality reminds that the loading of the leaves in the transport of the waste exporter must be done by the residents on their own and only at the specified places, dates and times. The leaves must not be brought in or left beforehand and must not contain any other impurities.

Also, during the project, as well as before and after the dates specified in the project, the Riga Municipal Police will intensify patrols at the leaf collection points in order to prevent or limit the unauthorized dumping of leaves.
