Edwards was born on July 26, 1922 in Tulsa, but moved to Hollywood three years later and grew up with his father's film sets. His career as a film director included several of Hollywood's best-known comedies, most notably those involving visual gags and physical comedies. Some of these films are "Breakfast at Tiffany", "10", "Pink Panther" and "Victor, Victoria". Edwards died in December 2010 in Santa Monica, California, of complications from pneumonia.
