Lautaro Martinez keeps Inter’s title dream alive until final matchday | Serie A TIM 2021/2022

After Milan’s win against Atalanta earlier today, Inter had only one option not to give up hope for the title and that was to win in Cagliari. Skriniar scored after a few minutes, but the VAR saw that he had done that with his arm.

It was only a delay for Inter, as Matteo Darmian headed Inter ahead before half an hour. Cagliari desperately needs the points in the relegation battle, but seemed like a bird for the cat when Lautaro Martinez finished a counter: 0-2.

But Charalampos Lykogiannis had an unexpected cannonball to give Cagliari fans hope. That caused some nervousness at Inter until Lautaro Martinez removed all doubts in the final phase with his second of the evening.

Inter are 2 points behind leader Milan. It must win against Sampdoria on the final day of play next week and hope that Milan falls at Sassuolo. If Milan draw and Inter win, Milan and Inter will end with equal points. Then the title goes to Milan through the mutual duels.
