What exceptions does the new executive order bring for remote work?
To facilitate workers to be compensated in accordance with their contracts and applicable laws, tomorrow, Tuesday, between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., up to five employees per employer will be exempt from the curfew in order to process payments for the payroll periods or cycles that expire during March 2020.
Likewise, to promote remote work so that workers can continue to generate income in the emergency period, they may go to the workplace to collect necessary materials and equipment, taking precautionary measures to guarantee the health and safety of said employees on the spot. of work.
Who will be able to operate under the new order?
Hospitals, clinical laboratories, supermarkets, pharmacies, gas stations, bank branches, and food establishments will continue to operate with a car, delivery, or pick-up service, as long as they take precautionary measures, limiting the number of people entering the establishments. They may also open care centers for the elderly and pawn shops only to provide receipt of goods as a pawn and payment of debts, not for the sale of merchandise.
What happens to the supermarkets during the weekend?
Supermarkets will not open on Sundays. Neither the pharmacies, nor the gas stations, with the exception of the recipe area and only the fuel office.

The new system starts the Wednesday, April 1 and not tomorrow, Tuesday, as the governor had previously announced. Plumbers, electricians, exterminators and other services that are necessary for the maintenance of health, safety and essential operation, as long as they offer a phone number or email to be contacted without the need to open a premises, attending to health aspects, safety and hygiene.
Likewise, roadside assistance and locksmith companies may operate, only to attend to emergency cases, without opening establishments that receive the public.
Package delivery and shipping companies may also operate, and the installation, repair, maintenance and rehabilitation works of the plant in terms of critical telecommunications infrastructure will be allowed.
Non-profit organizations may offer services, under the established conditions.
Can automotive service stores and hardware stores open?
Those companies that offer vehicle repair and parts services may also operate, including automotive technicians, rubber dealers and parts distributors. They will be able to operate to attend emergencies on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. through appointments and must establish a phone number or email to coordinate them. They should not open to the general public.
Hardware stores may operate Friday and Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. through appointments, establishing some method of contact to coordinate the sale and delivery of merchandise, without receiving the general public. In addition, critical construction services work, such as maintenance or repair related to hospitals, drinking water, electricity and communications, will be allowed.
And the dentists?
As for dental offices, they must remain closed, according to the recommendations of the ADA and the Puerto Rico Dental Board. They will be able to take action for emergency procedures by offering a phone number that patients can call and coordinate.
What will happen to tolls?
As of March 31, they will be charged, but no fines will be charged for not having a balance in your Autoexpreso accounts.
