(ANSAMed) – BEIRUT, JUN 09 – Due to the shortage of fuel, most of the petrol stations in Lebanon will be able to close in the next few days. This was announced in the last few hours by the president of the Lebanese gas station attendants’ Association, Fadi Abu Shakra, quoted this morning by the Beirut media.
In Lebanon undergoing economic collapse and for nearly two years in the grip of its worst financial crisis of the last 30 years, fuel for vehicles and to power electric generators has been scarce for weeks, in the context of a shortage of electricity and other essential services .
In the past few hours, the management of Aytam, a leading gas station company, has announced that it will close almost all of its stations in the Beirut, southern and eastern Bekaa valley shortly. (ANSAMed).
