Lens: a club offers 30 million for Openda, the Sang et Or resist

According to information from Bild, Belgian striker Loïs Openda clearly caught the eye of RB Leipzig. The German club would even have reached an agreement with the Lensois striker, who could become Christopher Nkunku’s successor. As a reminder, the international will evolve under the colors of Chelsea in 2023-24. Negotiations are underway between the two clubs for the 23-year-old striker, whose current contract runs until June 2027. A few days ago, the Italian press had mentioned AC Milan’s interest in Openda.

Arrived last summer against a check for 10 million euros from Bruges, Openda would not be against a premature departure even if the prospect of playing in the Champions League with Lens is rather attractive. The Sang et Or would have received a first proposal from RP Leipzig, estimated at 30 million euros. An offer deemed insufficient by the management of the French club, which is hoping for at least an additional 10 million to let go of its striker. Lens expects a lively summer transfer window whatever happens. Several players are likely to be in great demand, such as Fofana School or Kevin Dance.
