Genoa. It was inaugurated this morning there new fitness area outdoors “Life Path”, built in the heart of the VII Middle Levant Town Hall in via Nazario Sauro. The area, which is located between numbers 4 and 8, was born from the will of the entire municipal council which unanimously voted for the creation of an open area that could be used by both citizens and tourists: located in the strategic position between Corso Italia and Boccadasse, the fitness area “Life path” will also be signposted along the seafront.
“This project predates the first lockdown and was welcomed and strongly supported by the entire board that voted for it unanimously – said the president of the VIII Municipality Francesco Vesco -. It is a space that wants to be for everyone and for this reason we wanted to think of it and call it “Life Path”. The area will be under video surveillance and for this I thank the Elettro Security company which has made two high definition video cameras available free of charge ».
«The inauguration of this fitness area – he said the councilor for budget and public works Pietro Piciocchi – can and must be seen as a virtuous example of the ability of institutions to put themselves at the service of citizens quickly: the first stone was laid on March 12 and today those who live in the Middle East have access to an equipped outdoor area that can be used and accessible to all “.
«The construction of spaces like this – added the managing director for the definition of a model for the execution of major sporting events Stefano Anzalone – must and can be an example of what institutions can do to promote the well-being of citizens. An apparently small stage, but which for some may have the same value as a major event ».
«A few days before the start of the Olympics – concluded the managing director for relations with the Coni and the CIP Vittorio Ottonello – inaugurating a space that promotes sport and well-being takes on even greater importance. Importance, then, also emphasized by the presence of tools that will facilitate the usability of the area even for people with disabilities “.
The “Life path” fitness area was created in the central flowerbed of viale Nazario Sauro, between numbers 4 and 8, in connection with the “Health path” dedicated to jogging enthusiasts and will host seven machines, six Social Gym for fitness and a Spartaco that will also allow disabled people in wheelchairs to be able to carry out a workout. The area is 132 square meters, with a perimeter of 33 × 4 meters with a slope between 3 and 5%.
In order to guarantee the safety of guests and to prevent tools from being damaged, the area – in which it will not be possible to walk dogs – will be fenced and subjected to video surveillance (provided free of charge by the Elettro Security company).
As for the green area around the calisthenics of the “Life Path”, the irrigation system has been restored and soon the Town Hall will provide for the redevelopment of the public green, a job planned and carried out together with the Superintendency and respecting all the constraints of landscaping and also aim at restoring areas of shade: diseased plants will then be replaced with similar plants.
