MIAMI – Argentina international Lionel Messi praises two young debutants in his squad in a 3-0 win in a friendly against Honduras. The two players in question are Thiago Almada and Enzo Fernandez.

La Albiceleste, who faced WIB at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, USA on Saturday morning (9/24/2022) kept Honduras from moving throughout the game. Lautaro Martinez (16′) and two Messis (45+2′ and 69′) each scored their three goals.

La Pulga – Messi’s nickname – is certainly in the spotlight with his 85th and 86th goals for his country in 162 games. However, two stars were also born in this match, namely Almada and Fernandez.

Both 21-year-old midfielders came on as substitutes in the second half. They did well to keep Lionel Scaloni’s midfield stable and also created some dangerous chances.

Messi was amazed by the performances of the two juniors. In his opinion, Almada and Fernandez are very good players with exceptional skills.

“We saw them play very well, they are players we know well because they trained with us when we were last called up for the national team,” Messi was quoted as saying by Mundo Albiceleste on Saturday (09/24/2022).
