List of 39 Schools Closed Due to Covid-19 Cases and Omicron Suspects in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria stated that the total number of schools closed due to the findings of Covid-19 cases rose to 39. He said these 39 schools were spread across five cities in Jakarta.

“In total, 39 schools have been closed, but some have reopened,” he said at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday night, January 17, 2022.

From the data presented by Riza Patria, the most Covid-19 cases were found in East Jakarta, namely 15 schools. Next are South Jakarta (13 schools), West Jakarta (6 schools), Central Jakarta (3 schools), and North Jakarta (2 schools).

Riza said that of the 39 schools, 67 people were confirmed to be positive for Covid-19. The details are 62 students, 2 educators, and 3 education staff.

Most cases were found in SMK Negeri 35 Jakarta. At this West Jakarta school, it was found that 9 students and 2 education staff were infected with Covid-19.

Meanwhile, at SDN 05 Cijantung, East Jakarta, there is one educational staff who may be (probable) Omicron.
