KabarJombang.com – Starting October 24, 2022, iPhones that are still running the iOS 10 and iOS 11 operating systems are threatened with no longer being able to use the WhatsApp application. Because the WahatsApp application no longer provides support for these devices.
As reported by WABetaInfo, a platform that specializes in news about WhatsApp, WhatsApp users on the iOS 10 and iOS 11 operating systems will be asked to update to install the latest operating system, at least iOS 12.
If you don’t update the iOS operating system until October 24, 2022, the WhatsApp application will not be able to be used on that device.
“We support iOS 12 or later, but we recommend using the latest version available,” wrote WhatsApp.
Apple itself always provides the latest iOS operating system along with the development of its iPhone phones. The iOS 10 operating system was released in 2016, while iOS11 was released in 2017.
iPhone models that still support iOS 10 and iOS 11 are iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S.
However, not all of the above series of phones can upgrade the operating system to iOS 12.
The iPhone series that cannot update the operating system and are threatened with not being able to use WhatsApp as of October 2024 are the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C.
Meanwhile, other series such as iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S can still install the operating system update to iOS 12 or a newer version if it supports it.
If you are not sure which version of iOS your device is using, you can check it in the settings menu and then click about phone.
If the iOS operating system is not updated, you can update it immediately by clicking on the software update option in the settings menu.
