Loire-Atlantique shops authorized to open on Sunday

In response to the many requests for exemption addressed to him, the prefect of Loire-Atlantique has authorized all of the department’s retail stores to exceptionally open their doors next Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., as part of the commercial event of Black Friday. Supermarkets and supermarkets predominantly food will not benefit from the measure.

This prefectural authorization takes into account “the loss of activity known to businesses following the various successive measures aimed at limiting the spread of the Covid-19 virus”, but also “the importance of the commercial operation of Black Friday in the turnover of these businesses ”, justifies the prefect Didier Martin.

As a reminder, businesses in Loire-Atlantique will also have the right to exceptionally open on Sundays December 5, 12 and 19 for Christmas. “The terms for granting compulsory weekly rest, the compensation and guarantees from which employees will benefit on Sundays, must be granted under the conditions defined by the Labor Code and the applicable collective agreements,” recalls the prefect.
