LOU-Toulon: Lyon beaten again

Lyon chained this Saturday a second defeat against Toulon after that conceded to Castres last weekend.

At the Matmut Stadium in Gerland, the opponent scored the first try of the match through Paia’aua but LOU replied very quickly thanks to Ethan Dumortier in the 12th minute. The RCT did it again before half-time with a try from Kolbe and led by one point at the break (13-14).

The resumption of the second half was crazy. Toulon and Waisea immediately scored a third try, before Arno Botha imitated them three minutes later to close the gap.

At 20-21, everything was still possible. At 23-24 also, since Léo Berdeu allowed the Rouge et Noir to keep pace. But Toulon set sail and finally won 23-27.

Xavier Garbajosa’s LOU scratched the defensive bonus point, a small consolation prize after a gloomy afternoon at Gerland.

Next Saturday, it is on the lawn of the Stade Français that Lyon will have to finally recover.
