Returning travelers drive incidence in Delmenhorst

Delmenhorst (dpa / lni) – Corona-infected return travelers have driven the infection rate up in Delmenhorst. The independent city near Bremen announced on Monday that there should be stricter contact restrictions again from Wednesday. First there was a limited source of infection from returnees from Barcelona. Other returning holidaymakers had spread the infection in various places in the city.

The incidence was arithmetically higher for several days than ten new infections per 100,000 people in a week. According to the step-by-step plan in Lower Saxony, members of one household are only allowed to meet two people from another household – not counting children, vaccinated and convalescent people. Among other things, it is now again mandatory to wear a mask at weekly markets.

Because of the increasing number of infections in Lower Saxony, other municipalities have also tightened the situation. According to the city, the new rules will come into force on Tuesday in Braunschweig. The seven-day incidence for the country was 10.3 on Monday.
