Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Marseille, Paris, Strasbourg, Montpellier … on the 22 French metropolises, 20 have already taken action to impose the wearing of masks on part of their municipality: a busy street, a market or the city center.
In Lyon, this should be done in the coming days according to the deputy mayor in charge of health. Saint-Étienne will then be the last metropolis in France, the only one, not to impose the mask outdoors, on the whole of its territory. However several communes of the Loire have made this mask compulsory in their markets. This is the case in Montbrison, Firminy, Le Coteau or even Saint-Genest-Lerpt.
The Saint-Etienne choice may seem surprising: during confinement, while many municipalities had requested exemptions to obtain the reopening of their outdoor markets, the mayor Gaël Perdriau had been particularly careful. The Saint-Etienne markets did not resume until May 18. That of Montbrison had reopened to him on March 28. List of the 20 cities in which masks are compulsory in part of the municipality: Bordeaux, Brest, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Lille, Marseille, Metz, Montpellier, Nancy, Nantes, Nice, Orléans, Paris, Rennes, Rouen , Strasbourg, Toulouse, Toulon and Tours.
