embezzlement suspect MacBook worth IDR 67 million using a face mask to be able to verify an online motorcycle taxi account or online (ojol) that have been purchased.
The two suspects are known to have bought an ojol account which was sold by the owner at a price of Rp. 800 thousand to Rp. 1 million.
“(Using) a face mask or a photo of the face of the original owner of the ojol driver account for face verification when logging in to the ojol driver account,” said Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Endra Zulpan at a press conference, Wednesday (24/11).
Zulpan also revealed that one of the suspects has expertise or ability in the field of design.
As a result, the face masks that are made are very similar and can be successful in verifying the ojol account that has been purchased.
“Of course (having design expertise), that’s why they work together, they are experts in that field,” said Zulpan.
On the same occasion, Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Auliansyah Lubis said the two suspects were recidivist in a similar case.
“We found out he was a recidivist after we asked the person concerned there were 15 victims, maybe more,” he said.
Furthermore, Auliasnyah regretted the actions of the suspects in the midst of many people who often shop online at this time.
“It’s a shame that people who want to shop but are misused intentionally try with the intention of making their data fake so that it is difficult to trace,” he said.

From this report, the police arrested the suspects in two different locations. The two suspects are HS and RF.
For his actions, the suspect was charged Article 28 paragraph 1 Jo Article 45a paragraph 1 of the ITE Law and / or Article 372 on Embezzlement with the criminal threat of six years imprisonment.
