The Chavista deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra, son of the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, published this Saturday a birth certificate of his father to refute the “lies” about the nationality of his father, who in the past was labeled as not being Venezuelan.
Maduro Guerra published that official certification on his Instagram account, years after the controversy over the president’s nationality, which was verified by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) in 2016, when he confirmed that he is Venezuelan.
“I came across this memory at my family’s house and I wanted to share it with you. proof of birth of our President Commander-in-Chief Nicolás Maduro. Born in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. Even if they want to lie about us. The truth will always triumph! “Said Maduro Guerra, publishing a photo of the document.
The image shows a certificate issued by the Civil Headquarters of La Candelaria, an area in the center of Caracas, which indicates that in the Civil Registry books there is the birth certificate of “Maduro Moros Nicolás”.
In April 2016, the board of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament) of Venezuela, then controlled by the opposition, asked Maduro to present his birth documents to clear up concerns about his place of birth and nationality.
The nationality of the Venezuelan president had been the subject of conjecture by some opposition sectors, after the former ambassador of Panama to the Organization of American States (OAS) Guillermo Cochez presented an alleged Colombian record of the birth of Nicolás Maduro.
Six months later, the Supreme Court confirmed that Maduro is Venezuelan by birth and that he has no other nationality different.
The series of “incontrovertible” tests certified “with absolute certainty” that Maduro was born in Caracas on November 23, 1962, so he meets the constitutional requirement to exercise the position of head of state of being Venezuelan by birth and that this is his only nationality, the high court indicated then.
