At the end of his contract with the Reims team, Malian left winger Moussa Doumbia is about to sign for the next three seasons with the French Ligue 2 club, FC Sochaux Montbelliard.
Arrived in Reims in the summer of 2018, Moussa Doumbia still only has a few days to complete his contract with the Reims. He spent four seasons with the French Ligue 1 club during which he only shone in his first two seasons. In the last two seasons, he hasn’t been able to stand out because of his repeated cases of injury, which have kept him away from the field. In 2021-2022, he played very little and needs to be revived.
According to RMC Sport, the leaders of FC Sochaux are interested in his profile. The Cubs have shown their desire to sign the 27-year-old Malian international to strengthen their attacking sector for the 2022-2023 season. According to the same source, FC Sochaux have already made a proposal to the leaders of the Champagne club with a three-year contract. The offer is in the study phase and can be approved in the coming days.
Thus, Moussa Doumbia will leave Ligue 1 for Ligue 2, but this will allow him to relaunch his career. Under the colors of FC Sochaux, he may well win because of his technical quality which appeals to Sochaux. The Malian has 80 matches in Ligue 1, 60 matches in the Russian first division and more than forty matches with the Mali national team in his CV. It will undoubtedly be a reinforcement of weight for Sochaux.
