(CNNIt was a strange episode on American Airlines' 1346 flight on Friday, when a 25-year-old man touched the faces of other passengers and sprayed them with an unknown substance before jumping off the plane, police said in a press release The incident began Friday morning when a plane from Minneapolis landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The police said the man "behaved strangely during the flight."
The man then "accidentally touched the faces of other passengers" and sprayed an unknown substance from a spray bottle on them.
The man was brought in front of the plane to get out in front of the other passengers. As he waited for the main door of the plane to open, the man opened a service door on the other side of the plane and jumped out. The case was about ten meters long, police said, and the man was slightly injured.
Both law enforcement and paramedics responded, American Airlines said in a statement to CNN.
The man was arrested without incident, the police said, and was taken to a local hospital to treat his injuries.
Neither the police nor American Airlines stated that it had detected what was sprayed by the man, but there were no reports of injuries to the passengers.
The police said none of the other passengers wanted to file an indictment. Against the man of the public prosecutor's office charges of abuse are pending, the police said.
The incident did not interfere with airport operations, police said.
