“Manuel de Falla Professional Conservatory Student Body Performs in Clásica Joven en Vivo Cycle”

The student body of Manuel de Falla Professional Conservatory of Music performs this Sunday, May 28 at 12:00 noon in the Genovés Park pavilion, as part of the Clásica Joven en Vivo cycle organized by the Cádiz City Council, through the Delegation for Youth and Children, and in collaboration with the conservatory itself and the classical music schools of the Amor de Dios and San Felipe Neri schools.

The program has a varied repertoire which starts with Naughty Pianists: The Cooks (students from the piano department, coordinated by Cristina López) and continues with Clara Borrego Coimbra (piano): Prelude by George Gershwin. Ángel Cuevas Rodríguez (piano): The Appearance, of Ernesto Lecuona; four-hand piano duo (Amaia Goikoetxea and César Marimón) Brahms in Salsa, by Tal Zilber; horn group with works by Handel, Schumann, Pachelbel. (students of Patricia Alonso and Teresa Reig); brass wind ensemble with works by Jacob de Haan and José María Chamorro (students of Patricia Alonso); string ensemble (students of Carlos Jaime); string quartet with works by Borodin (students of Elena García Cuadrado); percussion group (students of Alejandro Suárez and Rodrigo de la Calle) and the Jazz Ensemble (students of Pedro Cortejosa).

The Clásica Joven Live cycle, which celebrates its tenth edition this year, offers young classical music performers performances in city spaces, thus also expanding the leisure alternative and the training and experience of young musicians. Another of the main objectives of the program is to offer the young population that is fond of music a different option to what has already been offered for years with the concerts of new rock, pop and other musical styles.

The program is made up of a wide variety of works and styles as pasodobles, classical or soundtracks; formations with bands, orchestras, soloists, vocal groups… and repertoires for piano, flute, strings, wind and singing.

As for the students who participate, the ages range between 13 and 18 years old in the case of the conservatory and from 1st or 2nd year of Professional Education to 6th. In the case of music schools, the boys and girls are mostly between 10 and 16 years old.
